I-130 approved was sent to NVC for processing

    HI all,

I am the US citizen applying for my husband. We recently got notification from USCIS that our I-130 was approved and sent to the department of state NVC for processing. I was told we should get a bill from NVC along with instructions for submit the waiver I-601.

my question is how long does it take to get that bill from NVC or to hear from them for the first time after the i-130 approval?

    Thanks

It depends, ours was approved in February 2012 and got an email from the nvc that they had received our I-130 for further processing.
    I’d say 3-6 months

you can always call the nvc and ask them about your case status

I-130 approved was sent to NVC for processing

Our I-130 was approved in November 2017 & we received our NVC email in December. It was less than a month.

I 601 does not come into play until after the interview which is about a year or so from the start.

Thank you ANRamosO our lawyer just received the NVC bill last week and we paid it. Now we are waiting on the next step. Not sure what that is though. Do you know what happens now?

Thanks for the reply, but that's not the process for our case. for us the I-601a needs to be submitted prior to his interview in Juarez. We won't get his interview date until after they receive and review his I-601a waiver application. However my question was how long did it take for people to receive word from NVC after the USCIS approved the I-130 application. But thanks for the reply.

The next step is the I-601a submission, I believe. Our lawyer finished preparing it and sent it in on January 16th. Yesterday they finally cashed our check, so a receipt notice should be on its way and now begins the waiting game.

Oh you mailed in a check? we paid online by check and noticed they took out the money from my account the next day. Your lawyer sent the waiver already? did you have biometrics done?

We paid our IV fees and affidavit of support fees online as soon was we got the NVC invoice. The i601a waiver has a petition fee of $715, that you mail in with the waiver & hardship packet. We paid the NVC invoices in December & sent our 601a on January 16th. We are waiting on our biometrics notice it should be here any day now.

Hi, I'm confused and hopefully someone can help me understand. I did my husband's paperwork back in 2008 and we first did the I130, the biographic information, then the Choice of Agent, The Affidavit of support, the DS 230, he left to Cuidad Juarez for his interview and filed the I 601 for the waiver, went to his waiver appointment with letter on hand and was approved.
Now, my cousin asked me to help her and I mentioned that the process had changed and I help her with forms but I'm a little lost because I've read that she doesn't need to leave the states, we filed the I130 and was approved, she paid the two bills already, DS260 N I864, she filed the DS260 yesterday and is working on gathering all the documents to mail with the I864.
Background- she came illegally in 1999, her husband is a US Citizen, lives in New York, has 4 us citizen kids, corresponds to CDJ.
Question- how can she get her appointment in the states and not go to Mexico? When does she file the I601?
    -------------------------------------------------
Interview: July 16th, 2008 (Eligible to file a Waiver)
    Waiver: July 29th, 2008 (Approved)
    SS Card: Aug. 12th, 2008
    Green Card: Aug. 20th 2008
