    I-212 Status Question

    Hello All,

I will finally be able to submit my I-212 for my husband in Oct 2017. He will submit the application to overcome his 212a9ci received back in Oct 2007.

I have read and read and read to try to find the best/shortest possible path.

Here are the scenarios I am thinking about. Based on the instructions I am to apply at the USCIS local office but they all get forwarded to Nebraska (in my case) then back to the local office, as I have read on this site. So I was thinking about sending it straight to Nebraska. However, with my luck it will back fire.

The other scenario I am thinking about was that I am moving to Texas with my son shortly and noticed that the Texas office was taking around sixish months to process I212s compared to Nebraska (11ish months). Again, with my luck it would back fire and take me twice as long.

So my question to all who have gone are going through this process is, what are your thoughts? I would like all and any feedback or advise you can give me.

    Thank you all in advance.

Does he have 9C for EWI after deportation or EWI after accruing 1 year of unlawful presence?

This is my personal opinion and is not to be construed as legal advice.

I'm in the same boat. 10 years end of October. I don't think all cases from local uscis get transferred. Some people have had luck making an info pass appointment at their local uscis and get approved 4 to 6 months later. I read that on the 212 facebook group. I think that's the route I'm going to try, but like you still reading and gathering advise.

Hi macedo22 and tcordoba! Are you hiring a lawyer to file your i212 or doing it yourselves?

I'll be filing myself. Looks like not many immigration lawyers have much experience filing the i212. I might do a consultation on if and how to file local, but that will likely be it.

    Hi macedo22 and tcordoba!

Just wondering if you could give us an update as to how your cases are going. We filed right before Thanksgiving at the local USCIS office in Boise Idaho. So far we haven't heard anything and the bank shows our cashier's check hasn't been cashed yet. I don't know if this is good or bad....
