    waiver of ineligibility C1D Visa

    Happy Easter everyone!!!
Recently I was employed by one of the most reputable cruise lines as medical doctor and got my LOE. I was supposed to join a cruiser ship next week.
Last week I had an interview at US embassy in Zagreb , Croatia and I was denied C1D visa because of past convicton. I was sentenced to community service and financial restitution in 2014. US consul recommended me for a waiver of ineligibility beacuse of CIMT. I did not receive any document of her recommendation. My employer promised to wait for my visa to be granted ( hopefully). As for my past conviction , I was honest in recruitment process and because that was my one and only wrongdoing the company gave me green light. Unfortunately US Consul did not share same sentiments. She said I have to wait at least 6 months for a waiver. Can somebody please give me some advice on this matter? Thanks

Last I saw they were talking a little longer than 6 months, what sort of advice are you looking for?

Thank you for your reply . I thought it would take less time to be processesd. Heard someone got waiver for C1D in a few weeks . I suppose it is just wishful thinking.

Don't be disheartened. In many time sensitive and purpose specific NIV waiver cases, consulates do recommend an early decision on the waiver request. It's mostly waivers linked with general purpose visit visas that tend to linger on for ages.
