Icon11 Motion to reopen a removal in absentia

Hello there, I hope I can get help from anyone that has experience or knows how to file a motion to reopen an order of removal in absentia. I been advised by a lawyer that is something I could do in my case, but cannot afford to pay the lawyer's fees so I will like to do it myself and asking for help please.

I left USA before hearing was even scheduled and so I went to US Embassy to ask for help regarding the hearing and I was told they would take care of it and well they never did and so my I-130 was refused at us embassy because I have been ordered removal since i missed my hearing, but how could i gone if i was out of the country and could not get back in.

I appreciate any help you can provide,

    thanks and God bless!

A motion to reopen should only be done by a skilled and reputable lawyer who knows how to write and file a good motion to reopen .
These motions are very difficult to get reopened and you only have one chance at a motion to reopen .
My wife had a deportation order in absentia and she had a very good lawyer with very reasonable fees and payment plans and flexibility . Her motion to reopen was granted .
    Where do you live ?
Send me a message if you want our lawyer's name and phone number .
    Good luck !

We are in a similar situation, but never left the country. Following. My question is, is the motion to reopen and the motion to administratively close two separate things?

HappyFaces, what argument are you basing your motion to reopen? That you did not receive the Notice to Appear? If so, how are you planning on fighting it?

    Icon14 Terminated Proceedings

Hello, I filed a MTR I was on "removal" and Just today I called the automated system and it says "Judge terminated proceedings on your case oct 31, 16" also there is no future hearing date and so far my father has not received any mail yet from court.

My question is what do I do now in order to get my visa issued at embassy since it was refused because of the "removal" thing.

    I appreciate your help.

Thank you, bereli03 so yo agree that is "good news" right? I mean my husband and I are trying to not get our hopes up because its been a very long road. But I been reading and it looks good, so just waiting for the actual letter from the court.
