Trying to start NVC stuff.........have a few questions.

Our i-130 was recently approved and I have received emails from NVC. NVC seems to be a breeze to most, but for some reason it is really racking my brain. It just all seems so confusing and I'm sure it's because I have not been on my ADD medication! LOL. Anyway I have a few questions.........

#1 I received an email that was addressed to my hubby, regarding the Choice of agent. I was going to use my mom because I'm not sure what my permanent address will be when I get back. (I'm in Mexico right now) I'm assuming it won't be an issue, but will there be any red flags because the agent isn't me, the petitioner???

#2 Further down on that email to hubby it says "if require complete online DS-261 and discard the physical DS-3032, but if you are not eligible to use DS-261 to then use the physical DS-3032" How do I know which one I need to use????

#3 I received a second email addressed to me to let me know that we were eligible for further processing and it listed my husbands name and address in the US and said that if it was not correct I needed to update it immediately. He left in March on Voluntary Departure......do I need to give them his foreign address, and if so, how do I update it with them???

#4 Then email goes on about the Affadavit of Support fee and going online to pay it. So I'm guessing I have to go online to pay it first and then I will actually get the information regarding everything I need to submit about the actual affadavit of support???

#5 It also included a copy of the choice of agent form for my records but said that it had to be completed and signed by my husband..........so I'm confused now, because I thought it could be done online??????

    Any help is greatly appreciated!!!

    THANK YOU ALL!

Sounds like you are eligible for MEP. SO you can do the DS-261 to proceed with the whole process electronically.

Yes, pay the fee online and you will get further instructions - although you can get an idea of what is required by reading the instructions to the I-864 so you can be prepared.

If you do it by mail it has to be signed, if not it doesnt.

#1 i think is more than fine
#2 you are MEP, but when you get the first email from them it confused me, its an email with like 8 pages that they have scanned and in it is the 3032, so i thought what I gotta do it twice? But ignore it if in fact you are MEP
#3 I have no idea, sorry LOL
#4 you will login into the website that you can find under NVC helpful links on here I believe. you login with case number and invoice number and you need the beneficiary number too, its pretty easy to follow the instructions. You cant move on to the next thing till it shows paid which took like 3 days for me then you can do the $404 one.

Never let go of hope. One day you will see that it all has finally come together. What you have always wished for has finally come to be. You will look back and laugh at what has passed and you will ask yourself... 'How did I get through all of that?”
