While this varies from time to time, most of the time they will ask you a few basic questions (when did you arrive in the US, have you ever left & when, has anything changed since the last appointment, etc.). Then you typically hand over your waiver packet and it's done (after getting your DHL tracking number). Time wise again depends on the consulate and what's going on that day. I know my husband's through CDJ lasted less than an hour from the time he left our hotel, went to the consulate, turned his packet in and returned. I've seen other members be gone for hours because of wait times in the consulate.

You might want to check out the Thread for CDJ Experiences to see what others have gone through. Good luck!

Just wanted to add that with the new processing they no longer give out the DHL tracking number at the appointment. You are directed to register on a website and then check it periodically for the DHL number to appear. It seems to be taking 2-4 weeks currently. During this time you can also call the info line to check on status but they are often unable (or won't) tell you anything. I would suggest having your husband register to receive his DHL in his hometown if possible to avoid waiting in Jaurez since the return times have been extended.

^ Thanks for the note. it doesn't quite seem universal for all cases yet but the change is supposed to be 100% soon and I had forgotten to put that step in there!
