We need prayers I will be having surgery here in MX.

Ok so some of you who have read my other threads know i have gallstones and need surgery we were hoping i could put it off till we got back home but it looks like that is not going to work .

We really didn't want to get it done here but it has been hurting so much i just can't wait, the worst was tuesday night it started hurting and making me throw up and my lower back started off just aching so i thought maybe i was just sick but as the night went on it kept getting worse i took some pain meds i have but it wasn't helping much and hubby had went to work but by 9am i had had enough, i only slept maybe 1 hr. and it was hurting so bad i sent a friend of his a text at work to have him call me( i am surprised he understood it with my really bad spanish lol). I told hubby if i didn't know any better i would think i was having another baby with back labor and that the only thing i could think of was it being my gallbladder so we went through all the steps to finish getting me on his insurance and we will have to go into the hospital most likely tomorrow for the surgery the bad thing is i don't think they do it with the 3-4 small incisions here( at least they didn't on his grandpa) they do the full 6in. one .

I am a little worried this will be the 1st surgery i have ever had an it's in a place i know nothing about. I don't even know if i should tell my parents i know they will freak out if i tell them i am going to a hospital here but at this point i don't have much of a choice.

Oh and if you have me on facebook could you not post anything at least until i do please, that way no one in my family hears it from facebook

I'm sorry to hear you're having pain. Atleast it will be over with though and you can start healing.
My parents were not happy I was having a baby in Mexico either, but they did get over it after everything went fine. You're in my prayers! I'm so glad you were able to get insurance and you won't have the financial burden of it! Take care! Let us know how your experience is!

I already posted this, I think, but I want to mention it again...
After I had the baby they put in an IUD, and to do that they had me in the operating room, and I must say it was VERY clean and so not like the rest of the hospital. And this was the Hospital Regional, so the cheapest you can get. The operating room seemed very new and up to date technology wise. I hope this helps calm some of your fears

JS- Good luck to you. You're health is very important. I am sorry however that you have to get it done there since you're already approved. I had my gallbladder removed when I was 14, but with the 3 small incisions and the one in the navel. It wasn't too bad and I was walking around like normal after 2 weeks.

Also, If you're familiar with our case, I became deathly ill while in Mex last year when I attempted to go live there with him until we heard a decision on our case. Due to the GB surgery when I was younger, I ended up getting scar tissue which caused bowel obstructions. (This was stated in our original hardship) So I had a history of recurring bowel blockages and guess what?! It happened to me when I tried to go live there, I had the whole 9 yards going on. I couldn't eat, I couldnt make a bowel movement, I began to vomit bile and tons of fecal matter, Yes Vomiting Fecal Matter! I had a very high fever and I was developing an infection! It was the most horrific thing in my life. My husband rushed me around the city to 3 diff. hospitals and they lacked proper resources and...well expertise. It was my bowels (because of my histories) and the doctor tried to argue with my husband that is was my appendix?!!?!?!? Was he serious, I knew what it was because I had this problem twice before in the states. But it never escalated to this degree. Anyway it was a big mess of drama at the last hospital we were at. We walkout in a very bad situation. When we left there I went to the airport literally dieing to get on an emergency flight out, my doctor in my city told my mom not to let me travel in those conditions....but the pain was unbearable. I wanted to cut my own insides out myself.

So I totalllllllllyyyyyyyy understand what you are going through right now. Get it done now because you don't want to risk your life.
Upon landing and getting into the ER my surgeon was like WTH, it's a miracle you're here, you could have died within 4 hours!
Because my condition was so severe, they had to cut me open at least 5 or 6 inches. I remember waking up in post- op looking down at my abdomen and feeling relieved. I didnt care about the incisions' length I was grateful that it was all over. I was home alone without my husband, but I had my parents. Looking at my scar now, makes me feel a little sad because of its appearance, but it's just a reminder that I am alive today. I can't imagine what could have happened if I stayed in Mex or If I would have sat around waiting on what to do.
I call it my battle scar of immigration and everything we faced to get my husband home to be in good health.
So think of that way ok hun? You'll be fine. At least you have your husband there at your side.
I think that's the saddest part, I came home without him when I needed him most. It hurt to be in this situation but we fought to be together.
I will keep you in my prayers for a safe procedure and quick recovery.
You'll know what I mean when it's all over.

Thanks! Mara- your case sounds so much more horrible, i am glad everything was ok and you were able to get back and get what you needed. I think one of my biggest concern which probably sounds stupid is not speaking spanish and not understanding anything they say to me, i don't know if i will have to stay there after wards and for how long and i don't want to be there alone not understanding anyone, i will have to have hubby call his mom when he gets home because his grandpa had the same surgery last night and i want to knwo how long he had/has had to stay at the hospital.

Don't worry about that, at one point I pretended not know any Spanish just so that my husband can stay in the rooms with me there. But just go over and practice the basic things you'll need to know for that day to say in Spanish... pain, doctor, nurse, water, fever, pills, or whatever else you think--- and besides with simple gestures they'll know.
