I-751 process seems to be taking longer

    Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone else has a recent time line for the I-751 process. We submitted the packet in August in California and quickly received the extension. The biometrics appt was at the end of October. We are just trying to patiently wait for the GC or approval, but have not heard anything. It seems like a lot of people received the new GC quicker.

    Thanks!

It is taking longer We submitted the packet in September and had the biometric Appointment on November 23rd and have been waiting and waiting and checking the status online. At USCIS.gov you can check your case status, all you need is your case # and they also have a processing time. For I751 its taking them 6mos right now So we are going to need a lot of PATIENCE.

Alacran, when USCIS receives your I-751 packet, they will send you a Notice of Receipt, which also states something like "this notice also serves as a temporary 1-yr extension of your GC." I was told that if my husband needed to leave/return to the US, the "expired" GC and this Notice was all he needed.
