Congratulations! Now it is getting ready to be scheduled for the interview at the consulate - which can take days or weeks, just depending upon which consulate you're going through and how busy they are at the time. I believe that we called about once a week to learn about our date (speak to an operator at the NVC if you do this rather than the automated recording). If you wait for the letter that's fine, but it can take a couple of weeks to print and get to you which is less time to prepare. When my hubby and I went through this a little over a year ago they sent 2 letters - one to me (the petitioner) and one to my hubby (the beneficiary). I hope that this helps and good luck!

    Hello guys,
I am little confused, what does case complete mean? Does is it mean they have everything they need or that they finished the processing of the case?
I got an email last week from NVC,saying they have all documents and the case is in process. The package was sent in september 22. so how much more do you think I will have to wait before an interview is scheduled?.

    Thank you

facgri1, yes you can call and they will be able to tell you your interview date. it may take several weeks for it to get in their system though, so be patient if they say they don't have anything yet.

dabdouba, if your case is in process it means that they are reviewing the documents that you sent. when they have looked them over and are satisfied that you have sent them everything that they need, then they will "complete" your case, and send it to the consulate to schedule your interview. there really is no set timeline for how long that might take. it all depends on the consulate you are going through. which consulate are you processing through? you might want to go to the I-601 section for that consulate and ask how long they're taking to schedule interviews. even if you don't have to submit an I-601, that will be your best bet for finding people on the forum with experience in your particular area of the world. good luck!

umm....not really sure what else to put here. i guess we'll count down to citizenship! woohoo!

facgri1, just wanted to inject one more thing - you don't need to ask them to schedule because they will automatically. Calling just hopefully gives you your interview date a little earlier than waiting for a letter to come to you snail mail.
