    hi everyone...

Ana,I too always found emptiness in some religion preacheness thing, try to force you to believe and no foundation to the faith, for a long time I never felt attached to any particular religion, but I still believed in a God.today I discovered the spiritism, and i found comfort there because they don't impose a faith on you... anyways,my point is,we're all in this world free,we all have the same rights,so be what you want to be,believe in what you must, you not less, not more for this, for those of us who have a faith to follow, great, lets follow it,for those of you who prefer don't follow any faith at all, great too.you are not less human for that.and this is true, this is a immigration forum, but i'm sure that all of us that is posting in this site,is under a lot of strain,so sometimes that is a need to seek comfort, and by talking about what is on your mind sometimes, helps the strain to ease a bit.

Lol - I had to laugh at your kid just saying a quick prayer for their food lol. I can see if the babysitter says "thank you jesus for this food" before eating (I do it)...the kid just mimics what he/she says so he said it maybe? He/she doesnt get the significance but its funny because kids are just sponges!!

I have no problem with the idea of you keep it to yourself and I'll keep mine to myself, but if you start advertising and proselytizing , I will as well. I always amazed me that a catholic, a baptist and an atheist could all live in harmony in the same home together, yet people out in the world have such little respect for individual beliefs that they can't seem to get along.

Would your babysitter have appreciated you teaching her child the theory of evolution? or about other gods throughout history? something people should really think about before opening their mouth. I had one woman tell my son he would go to hell since he didn't believe, he told her he would meet her there! I consider this crossing the line, and was furious. further more it was a public school teacher who told him this?!

    to each his own.

You're right! I told my husband the same thing but he shrugs it off and says it's fine. We can't indoctrinate our children like religious people do Lol But since my sister in law recently asked my husband if he's atheist now they know and I've felt like telling the babysitter...at least hinting at it Let's ask the hubby when he gets home... But since she knows that I grew up Christian and some history on my family, although she doesn't know anyone, she assumes we're believers too. I'm not quit sure she actually "teaches" him to pray and about God (although she has lots of children's books, decor and talks about god and Jesus) she just assumes it but know you've got me thinking more...maybe she does teach him

It was funny! Actually, I did tell him "We don't say that here at home, only at Ms. BABYSITTER's house" so who knows...maybe he went and told her that! I can imagine my son and his muffin head (he has a head full of hair! We should take him for a haircut every 2 months but we don't ) shaking or waving his little pointer finger saying "we no say that here only Miss BABYSITTER's house"

I have many Christians in my family, I have many preachers in my family. I have no problem with someone saying they will pray for me if I am ill..etc.. I know they are just being kind in their own way. I will not tell others I am praying for them because I am not. I think it would be a slap in the face. If I can help someone by sending money, helping with their bills, or with food..etc.. I would much rather take action. I do not believe in "spiritual" matters either. I know there is no such thing as a spirit, I also know that this 'spiritual' thing is more of a state of mind. I find wonderful moments in solitude, I find euphoria in things I do with my family, I find that reflecting on things is healthy. If that is what some call spiritual, so be it. to each their own.

I would not debate anyone on this forum as I have forums of which I am a member for that very reason. I am here for immigration matters and the very few who do get to peek into my world have to understand that we are indeed a family of a different kind, yet not do different if that makes any sense at all?!
