Please be aware of the following instruction when emailing an inquiry. These are subject to change:

    • Due to the High volume of e-mails we receive, please allow 7 days for a response. Your patience is appreciated.

If your email/inquiry is regarding an I-601 Waiver

    • When sending your e-mail inquiry, please be sure to include the following information:
Complete name of applicant, date of birth, Immigrant Visa case number
(e.g. TGG 1999 123 456) and date the I-601 Waiver was filed with the Consular Section in Tegucigalpa, Nicaragua or Costa Rica.

    • Please be aware that if your case was referred to USCIS from the American Consulates (Honduras, Nicaragua or Costa Rica), our processing time is approximately 9 months from the date USCIS received your case. If your case was filed less than 9 months ago, please consider this notice as our response to your inquiry.

    • This office is devoting all its resources to reduce the processing time, therefore, if a decision is reached before the estimated period of time or if we need additional evidence from you, our USCIS office will contact the petitioner or attorney of record (if any).

    • Please do not send duplicate e-mail messages or ask family/friends to e-mail USCIS on your behalf. Additional inquiries will not be answered as they will slow down our processing time.

    • If your case was sent to the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO) in Washington, D.C., please be aware that AAO processing times range from 12 to 18 months and USCIS will be unable to provide case status information until a final decision has been reached.

    • Requests for expedited processing due to emergent circumstances will be considered on a case by case basis. Please include all available information pertaining to the emergency.
