I think if you order the medication through an online Pharmacy and have them sent to another address in their envelope it is legal, I order my regular prescriptions on line all the time! Are these being sent to Mexico?

I work for a Medical school and think ok just so sent in their envelope Alicia.

Why not ask USPS? Theoretically the U.S. mail is regarded as secure to some level, even Confidential classified documents have been allowed before as long as it is doubled-wrapped with markings on the inside. USPS should be able to quickly tell you.

I'm in family practice.... I send sample medications to well.... different places through the mail all the time...it isn't illegal.... I send big boxes too.... not only do I send the medication... I receive it from drug reps... ALL the time....
and.... there are mail order places where you can get a 90 day supply sent to you.... so I have patients that are taking 6 medications ALL 90 day supplies.. you can imagine the package that arrives at their door... all of course totally legal.
    so send away

I am not an expert but before I sent any medications through the mail I would check with the post office. The other places these people are talking about have a license to dispense medicine. If your not a pharmacist or doctor I would think that would be illegal.

I do know that if you give someone else your prescription medicine or are caught with certain medicines without a prescription in your name this is illegal sooo............

Just my 2 cents...........better safe than sorry.

it isn't illegal to have other people's medication or medication you don't have a presciption for...(I wonder how many patients I have do this and just don't say anything.. ha!)..... I do ship medicine internationally as well but I usually do it as a medical missions group.. or if it is to a individual.. I also write a script.. just in case..and I've never had a problem with customs.(and obviously i'm shipping stuff like blood pressure meds or acid reflux.. no pain stuff)..I've shipped to Mexico, Chile, Peru and Honduras with no problems.... same with border crossing... but if you are shipping in country...you don't need a script....
obviously i'm not advising to take someone else's medication...and it is not advisable not to self medicate at so many people do.... people will purchase medication in mexico for whatever problem they think they have without understanding side effects or interactions... but technically... if you want to give your own personal medication to someone else.. although not advisable... this isn't illegal. .

This is where I got my information.......

    http://kidshealth.org/teen/drug_alco...rug_abuse.html

Finally, never use someone else's prescription. And don't allow a friend to use yours. Not only are you putting your friend at risk, but you could suffer, too: Pharmacists won't refill a prescription if a medication has been used up before it should be. And if you're found giving medication to someone else, it's considered a crime and you could find yourself in court.

Prescription drugs become illegal drugs when they are used or given to others without a prescription.
