Is it okay to put a small picture on the first page of the HSL? Has anyone who put a picture been approved during their waiver appointment?
Paco, sorry to hear what happened, but it is very normal. They will make you take it out if you have it in any kind of binder/folder. It is actually recommended for you to just have your waiver packet 2-whole punched at the top and put together with an Acco clip.

You know what Borriqua? I think you're right. It will put a face to the HSL so that the adjucator can know that we're human beings and not just a bunch of papers.

Always consult with an attourney! If u dont know question it !
here is the Hardship waiver - it was about 1 1/4 inches thick. Yeah i know i have a lot of tabs, but we have a lot to overcome and i wanted it to be easy easy easy to flip through and find the evidence they wanted...I figured, if they hate tabs, they will hate 10 or 100 (not that i had 100 , but you know what i mean) Anyways, the guy at the first waiver interview told him a couple things to relay the message to me ( i didn't do his name right, HUH? yes i did... anyways..whatever.... and to tell me not to scratch out or whatever on teh money order - and again - HUH? I looked because i have a copy of it and i did not scratch anything out.. so not sure what he was talking about. But since he was really nice, i figured if the tabs were THAT bad he would have said something about that too - cuz he flipped through both waivers just to "check em out" i guess)
and the medical waiver was exactly the same....just wayy thinner - that one was about 1/3 inch thick?...
exact same format for both...not that you can see it, but the line across the top is red..to "match" the pics - just for aesthetics..hah and to go along with the aesthetics and ease and all (Exhibit X) was also in red every place i put that after a sentence.......
all pages after the first page had a header with case number and my husband's name at the top above the red line...bolded...

Very informative, thanks! We got the manila folder with the 2 prong things at the top, did a 2-hole-punch on each page and stuck it in there. THe manila folder is similar to the ones in medical offices or the ones USCIS adjudication officers use. If anyone wants to share their opinion on this, feel free.

markolfa, are you planning on having the waiver packet attached to the folder? If so, it´s really not a good idea as everyone on the forum who has mentioned doing that has been made to take it out.
They only have so much room to store these packets and it especially makes it harder to fit in the file folder or envelopes.
