2008 - May - Started expungement process with attorney Leo Lastre.
2008 - July 8, 10:45 am - 2nd Appointment
1st Issue: CDJ claims a 1993 Poss. of Cannabis/Theft of Lost Property case was still open.
2nd Issue: CDJ questions hubby regarding past gang affiliation. Police Report from 1993 indicated my husband admitted to being a Latin King. Hubby denied the claim and was told to return to consulate July 10, 2008.
2008 - July 10, - CDJ didn't make a decision on gang issue. CDJ requested "final" court disposition regarding the possession of cannabis. His case is now under Administrative process. Hubby was informed by Immigration Officer that any present or past affiliation with gangs resulted in a permanent lifetime ban.
2008 - July 14, - Bridget went to Chicago City Clerk's office to obtain new court disposition.
2008 - July 16, - Requested new court hearing to ask that the Judge remove the "Bond Forf." from case.
2008 - July 23, - Court Date went before Judge. State Attorney abandoned the case. Bonf Forf. removed. New, updated court disposition would be available 5 business days.
2008 - July 30, - New court disposition available. Headed to Chicago City Clerk's office...returned empty handed (bomb threat had to evacuate the building).
2008 - August 1, - Returned to Daley Center and obtained new court disposition. Forwarded originals to Laurel
2008 - August 4, - Laurel faxes and mails court disposition and asked the consulate make a speedy decision on gang issue.
2008 - August 7, 2:30 pm - Original wavier appointment. Rescheduled.
2008 - August 27, - Requested that Laurel start haggling the consulate for a decision on gang issue.
2008 - September 2, - Laurel sends an inquiry regarding the gang issue.
2008 - September 3, - Laurel calls to inform me of CDJ response to our inquiry. They are conducting background check.
2008 - September 6, - Received letter from CDJ requesting final court disposition. (Already sent 2-3 times). Laurel to follow up with CDJ because we already sent that.
2008 - September 9, - Previous attorney calls and informs me that she received a letter regarding our case. Letter requests final court disposition!
2008 - September 10-11, - Hurricane Ike. Laurel not available.
2008 - October 23, - New Wavier appointment.
