Hi, A lawyer is calling me back this afternoon. I thought I saw something on here about specific questions to ask them , about their success rate, etc.. Can someone help me find those questions??

I think the most important question would be how many waivers they have filed with the specific consulate you are going through and what their success rate is with that consulate.

Make sure that they have considerable experience with foreign filed waivers, preferably at the consulate that you will be using. Ask them about their sucess rate and how many cases similar to yours they have handled. If you want to test them, ask if you can file a waiver for a fiance. The answer is yes, but you'd be surprised how many don't know this. Ask them for an approximate timeline and then compare what they tell you to what you see posted here, it will give you an idea of how intune they are to what is actually going on in the real world. An honest lawyer tells it like it is, not what you want to hear. Best of luck to you.

Also make sure you get their total rates upfront, and find out if this includes all time spent calling/clarifying details with the lawyer,

Ask whether your calls with questions will be answered by the lawyer or by another employee in the office.
Please post your immigration questions on the forum, not in a private message. Always consult an experienced lawyer before filing.
*If you believe you or someone on your behalf checked the "US Citizen" box on an employment document, please do not send a private message. Talk to a trusted lawyer about what could happen. *

I got his name from something Pinkpig posted.

The local ones already laughed themselves silly over my case.

I just feel like I am way in over my head, I know I'm grasping at straws, but I am ready to snap. I'm not kidding, I am so close to the edge.
