    Question N-400 & I-90 Biometrics Fees...do we pay both?

Hello, I'm hoping someone can shed some light on this issue. I'm currently helping my mom apply for her citizenship. Her green card expires in less than six months but she decided she wanted to go ahead with paying the fee to renew it and then file her N-400 concurrently since you can use your I-90 receipt in place of an expired green card during the process.

But what I was wondering was would she have to pay two biometrics fees, one for the I-90 and N-400 if she files them around the same time? We plan to file the I-90 soon and send a copy of the receipt with the N-400 right away. Has anyone been through this experience? Thanks for your help.

The biometrics fee most likely does not need to be paid twice, unless USCIS needs separate biometrics information for each application. You may need to call the USCIS customer service number to verify. The forms are most likely adjudicated by different staff.
