Thank you all! I got my fingerprints on 9/21/12, so it only took a month afterwards.

on the driver's license issue, it blows my mind how these states want to negate a driver's license to someone with a work permit!!!! its pure hate, racism. i hope no more states follow.

So what I don't really understand is how they will know you are issued a DL due to DACA. Once you have your social security number it doesn't really matter how you got it. Use your social and proof of residences at the DMV, can't remember if they ask for birth certificate. Maybe that's where it comes into play? Hmmmm....can anyone clear this up. So far as another form of picture ID that should be your passport or matricula. I mean even LPRs or visa holders have foreign passports and ID cards.

I know moving to another state isn't a great option for most but honestly I would move to another state if it means a better life. Maybe if you live near a state line that's not so bad right. Frankly sometimes I wonder if I even want to live in this country anymore. Everything is getting so backwards for us to be living in the 21st century. It's mind numbing! I know there is no perfect country but at least if we move we will both be able to start off with a clean slate. And yes i am quit frankly sick of the racism. Go figure the most integrated country in the world would be the least tolerable one.

Try to get your high school transcripts, that will show all the years you were in high school. Just an idea.

WOW congrats Chris. i did my fingerprint just 11 days after yours so my turn must be coming too. i cannot wait to get the work permit, but this license issue in Michigan is killing me. I hope the secretary of state realizes what a huge mistake shes making by then.

    Visa in Process?

Can a person still apply for DACA even though they have a pending Visa application? Will this cause any problems with tgeir Visa processing?

Can Someone with a permanent ban can apply for DACA and be accepted?? Just wondering I'm not sure I have a permanent bar yet,but I meet all the requirements to apply for DACA just not knowing my record is what is holding me back.

Yes, but realize that the ban would still apply if you're trying to apply for permanent residence. DACA is a temporary measure that doesn't grant status, and it can't overcome a ban. Give you relief from being deported, yes, but can't overcome the ban itself.

Just make sure you really do have a ban, though. You are assuming you have one, and maybe you do, but don't give up until you find out as much as you can about how the consulate will interpret your situation. You never claimed to be a US citizen and you don't know if that lady claimed you were a US citizen, either.
