Question on should I ask for an Expedite

I have a sensitive question on whether I should expedite or not. Recently I was in the hospital for a stroke, last month - March. My husband is the applicant. I became ill with a stroke that has caused an aneurysm ( a blood clot in the brain). I am lucky to be alive here today! I got to the hospital in time. It is a small aneurysm, but I am not out of danger. In the next two weeks I go to see a specialist who will determine if immediate surgery is necessary on the brain. I am in the middle of my husband leaving for CDJuarez soon. Should I ask for an expedite?. Also, I know no one knows if they will be one of the chosen 300 for CDJ. I hope I am chosen. We are still at the NVC process and my case just closed today.

should I expedite my I601 waiver? We were going to do the waiver ourselves.

A little background on us: We have no children together, but we have been together since 2007 where we got engaged in 2009. He went way out on the engagement ring too.

Please read the "expedites" sticky in this section. Please read it as objectively as possible. You will need to provide arguments and proof of why you need your husband here/need his assistance and why his case needs to be processed faster than normal. This is crucial for an expedite. You may want to wait until you meet with the specialist about brain surgery because that is very serious.

You should be proud of the progress you have made. I have a good friend who had a stroke a few months ago following neurosurgery and she needed a lot of assistance for a while. Now the only effect left is double vision which is very, very slowly improving, but not without a lot of frustration and pain as you can imagine.

thanks for responding so fast. I will read the expedite section. I will read it carefully and get back to you. It seems we may have to reschedule our appt if he has to go to CDJ. Again. a lot seems to be dependent on the surgeon's appt in two weeks. I remember the doctor in the hospital saying something about my vision may be affected after surgery. They were going to operate while i was in the hospital but they became hesitant. Just that the headaches are coming more frequent now. Doctors say I am doing well, but the last two days I haven't been feeling well.

cupackes, just that if he goes to Cdj he is going to worry about me alot. Doctor told him he already has a nervous condition that is getting worst. He started to take care of himself, but sometimes becomes overly concerned with my progress. Well, I am going to go and read the Expedite section and see what info I can get from it.
