6B BAN:

Please check out this sticky and talk about what to do if you have skipped a court hearing with your SO and your attorney.

Not all consulates issue a 6B ban when they can, but a lot of Central American consulates do, especially El Salvador. If you are not ready to wait at maximum 5 years and not be able to file an immigrant waiver until the ban has been completed, please think carefully about how to handle your case.


TATTOOS:

If you or your SO has tattoos, please very carefully evaluate whether filing is a good idea for your case. The consulates in Central America, especially El Salvador, have tended to be very aggressive about applying a lifetime ban (no waiver available) for anyone they suspect may have or have had gang affiliation. This is usually not due to criminal history, but to tattoos the applicant has.
