Does your employer offer health insurance?
All I can promise is that my intentions are good.

I am a U.S. citizen by birth, married to a man born in Mexico. He received his legal permanent residence visa in June of 2006 through my sponsorship and became a proud US citizen on November 18, 2009. We did not utilize the services of an attorney during any point in our immigration and naturalization journey. Although we were successfull without legal counsel, I would not advise anyone to make such a decision without very careful consideration. Every case is different and what was right for us and our case might not be the best choice for you and yours. Click here to view the details of our case.

I took the high deductible plan at my company. Its about $38 a pay period but we get $25 (per pay period) if we do our biometrics screening and a online health assessment. Overall we pay $11 or so per pay period. The deductible is pretty high $2400 for both of us but the company automatically dumps $1000 in there. So its only $1400 out of pocket before the 90/10 coinsurance kicks in. Coming from a job where I paid $200 per pay period to this is a huge relief because we're only paying the deductible if we're using the insurance otherwise we dont pay it....then too since it goes into an HSA account if we dont use it in that year it rolls over to the next year and even earns interest.

My employer pays 80% of the healthcare premiums for my family. It's hard for me to break down the expenses becuase the money they give me covers other things like: Health, dental, full payment for short and long-term disability, and life insurance. I like that they offer domestic parter coverage as well. They pay $511 every two weeks and I pay $210. My portion also includes deductions for money I put into a medical spending account to cover my deductible.

I work at a large hospital system so we are covered at 100% for preventive care AND routine(ear infection, strep, cold, fever...etc) office visits when we visit a clinic in our system. Also, prescriptions for popular meds(the list is huge) aren't subject to the deductible and if you get your prescriptions through their mail order system you get three months for the price of two.

All in all, not bad. We have a low deductible and low out of pocket max which I feel is necessary since my oldest has a heart condition.

Edited to add: We have health for me, my husband and our two kids. Dental is for everyone except for the baby.

I work for a pharmacy and our health insurance sucks. You would think working in the healthcare field we would have better benefits, but my company is very, VERY profit driven.

I can only afford to put myself on it, if even that this year. It will be clinics and the county hospital for specialists for the rest of them as we have been doing for the past few years.

I wonder why that is CC...I know several in medical field that don't have the great insurance coverage I'd expect.

For a family of three I pay $180 per pay period with a $600 deductible. It will be increasing next month during open enrollement. Our company is a corporation of Dialysis clinics and get this, our insurance doesnt even offer Hemodialysis benefits..

Granted, I live in South Korea, so the whole game changes. But my employer pays 50% of my premiums and I pay the other 50%, which comes to like 2-3% of my total paycheck. Oddly enough, the way my contract is written, they pay 100% of the premiums for my husband and son. All of this in a socialized system where people rarely pay more than about $20-30 for any type of medical visit. I could definitely deal with this...

I pay nothing for dental or vision and $10 a paycheck for medical. But to add my hubby to it, the cost jumps to $240 a paycheck. We're holding off on adding him for that reason.
Starting over again with life. This time with a happy outcome! "Each of us will face trials and tests, and . . . it is how we react to those difficulties that will determine our success and happiness. Each of us will face adversity no matter where we are. We are taught in the scriptures that there 'must needs be . . . an opposition in all things' (2 Nephi 2:11). We will each face times of difficulty, and the question is not when we will face them but how we face them."
