What to do with my kitty?

My cat will be 13 by next summer. I've had her all these years, but when my husband goes to Mexico I plan on going with him for several months. I don't quite know which will be harder on my cat. Giving her away permanently or having someone foster her and after she's used to the arrangement moving her again. She's not elderly, she is young at heart. What to do?

    Take her with you.

Personally no offense, I look at our pets as a family member, we traveled with the dogs. I look at it as I wouldn't give one of my kids away, why raise a pet and give it away. I know circumstances change but I would never give them away.

I'm not offended. I feel similarly. What is involved in this process? Also, we haven't determined our method of travel, this may not be practical for a cat. Lastly, the area where we will be staying will be like a long camping trip. Rough by Mexican standards. She's likely to be injured by other animals. Just trying to be practical.

WE have done both. Airline - need updated vaccination and of course airline fee.

Land - same thing but sometimes they don't even ask for the vaccination record.
