Help! NVC is saying our documents aren't original copies when they are!

Has this happened to anyone before? We got our missing documents checklist today and NVC is telling us that our marriage license and my husband's birth certificate are not actual originals or certified copies of the originals.. when they ARE! I went and got our marriage license myself from the county courthouse and we even attached the paper that has the seal and signature of the recorder of deeds on it. We got a certified copy of my husband's birth certificate with all of the seals and signatures on it as well so what the heck are they talking about? How can we prove to them that these are the originals???

Write them a polite e-mail (because you always want a paper trail) that states just that - you know that the items turned in were originals and please review them again as they do indeed meet the specifications. It's annoying but you just have to get someone to take the time to look again.

Yes, but a lot less expensive and crazy-making than having to gather it all again. Sadly, sometimes they just need to be beat over the head. Feel free to use this -

haha. My lawyer already warned me that the NVC mailroom is notorious for not looking at things carefully enough. It's like, they were able to look at the visa application hard enough to see that we forgot to include his address at age 16, yet they couldn't tell that the marriage license they were holding had a big indented seal on it.... interesting. I REALLY hope this doesn't affect my hopes for a december appointment. It's going to take a week for the documents to get to my lawyer from Brazil. Eeeck.

Same thing happened to me about the addresses!! I think we did the addresses from 17, and they sent it back saying we had to fix it!

And now I receive the same cover sheet in an email from NVC only now they are including a paragraph about the photos and how they should be sent in. So my lawyer is just having me send in 2 new photos. ugh. The paralegal told me that she put his name on the back but didn't make a copy of that in the photo copies of everything. You think that could be what they're having an issue with? The specs are correct!
