If you know you will need a co-sponsor, you need to send all of the necessary financial evidence, including the tax info and i-864 from you and the co-sponsor. You should submit the DS-230 in a separate package. Otherwise it could get misplaced. However, if she's going to give birth soon, this could be a challenging time to be going to Mexico. Once all of your paperwork is final and approved, it could be just 6-8 weeks before you have to attend the visa interview. Make sure everybody is ready before you file the final paperwork.
Please post your immigration questions on the forum, not in a private message. Always consult an experienced lawyer before filing.
*If you believe you or someone on your behalf checked the "US Citizen" box on an employment document, please do not send a private message. Talk to a trusted lawyer about what could happen. *

look at the links in LosG's signature! Those helped me tremenously and that is how we are doing it without a lawyer along with the help of this website! You need to make sure you know everything before it is too late! It cost a lot of money including the cost of travel to juarez and living without one of you and moving to Mexico for that time frame! You should first find a lawyer or two in your area and see if you can get a free consulation, or even a consultation for a small fee. It is a great way to get to know what you need to do. Since you are MEP then you will be doing everything over email, scanning all the docs in PDF format and emailing it to the NVC. You should get all the AOS stuff together including the cosponsor stuff and send it at once. Then send all the visa app docs in one email. But take a look at those links and you will learn a lot!

congrats on the baby but I understand your situation, but do more research and soon I'll be posting all the required document lists I gotten from our lawyer to gather for the packages at the interview.
brace yourself because at times it seems all about money when it comes to this proccess, due to the required payments, traveling expenses and accomodations.
and then you are having a baby but don't know how long will your spouse be out of the country waiting for approval.
What I'm trying to say is that mentally, emotionally prepare yourself...the whole proccess is somewhat unexpected and time consuming, stressful at times....at the end is worth it.

good luck to you guys, but I'll be posting the list soon.

She does not need to come with you, as the consulate in CDJ does not allow anyone but the applicant to attend the interview. That said, she is definitely able to come and hang out while you are at an appointment, which is what my family did while we waited for my husband to attend his appointments. The choice of spending those weeks together or alone is totally up to you.
