    Update...

So I had to call the premium number after not hearing from the embassy and managed to get an email and some kind of code to put in the subject heading to email the embassy with. They replied within minutes saying to get my passport there asap and to call the courier. I was shocked as I had been told to wait on them contacting me...anyways, my passport is being picked up on Friday and I took your advice Richi and got the standard and £27 odd. I asked how long processing takes and they said they go case by case..frustrating!

Who hear has had their case expedited and if so, how long did it take them to return your passport with the visa in it?
How long does it take to reach the emabsssy if being picked up on a friday?

    thank in avance ppl!

CONGRATS to you from fellow immigration survivors. Thanks to Richi and Jenny as well and everyone else on Visa Journey. Elliott Cook was an absolute GODSEND. I called quite a few times and spoke to him almost everytime and he was so kind and understanding. Called him the friday before we were approved and surprisingly we got an e-mail on Saturday stating we were approved....bam..no expedite. I cried for an hour I was so happy and relieved ....FINALLY, my husband could come home. It's been so long since Gary and I can actually sit back and relax now......PEACE AND LOVE TO EVERYONE and anyone still waiting..hang in there..push, and your dreams will come true.

courrier came this morning to pick my hubby's passport up....WOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......I' d like to know he time frame on all this myself....don't think it will be too long now

CONGRATS YOU GUYS!!!! It is an awesome feeling aint it?!? I TOTALLY aggree with you about Elliott-he is awesome!!! We got the email last saturday so I guess he came in that day to put through our cases as well as one other! I wish I could hug him! He answered all my questions with patience and understanding and told me not to worry as everything was going to work out.

My passport got picked about three hours agao. I paid for the all day service so was pretty surprised when he came that early! He told me it will arrive at the Embassy tomoroww ready for them to process it Monday. When I paid for it yesterday, they told me I would recieve a tracking number with my receipt and that from Wednesday I could track it on its way back to me!!! That meeans I should have it Thurs or Fri so ill be flying out on the 22nd, the folowing MOnday!! I asked how she knew and she said coz Elliott had marked my case as urgent on the files sent through to them. Having a huge party next Saturday! Finally i get to go home! Hubby is extatic and planning a surprise mini break for my arrival...SOO excited!

When is your hubby planning on flying? were you told anything by the courier company when you guys paid for pick up?

Hey...what is your name by the way? I think tracking can 'possibly' start on monday but Gary was told Wed, then Monday....so who knows. Gary and I have been looking at flight prices and there are some amazing good deals flying into New York and Chicago on Iceland Express. Where will your final destination be? Gary's will be Orlando but if your willing to change flights there are some good deals out there. We don't want to book just yet because not sure when the passport will be back but as soon as we get a general idea of passport arrival time we'll book...'probably' around the end of August or sooner IF possible. What about you? AGGHHHH...so very excited here.

My name is Cassia...final destination Raleigh, NC...not booking til we have passport in hand either but Kiah (my hubby) knows someone who is works for US airways and can get me on a SAME DAY standby flight if i wanted to but to say bye to everyone first then fly out the Monday. It is only going to cost £150 and at this time of year with summer vacation time over, it should be nice n easy.

    Laury/Richi,

how long do we have to start the greencard process after I get to the US? We will have to live with my inlaws for a month or two til we find a house for ourselves and i know tat we have to prove the marriage is legit even though i130 was approved with things like joint utility bills etc. Do you think its ok to wait these couple months or do we need to find a way around it and apply for the greencard when I get there?

Also, I checked the box to get my ss# on the application for whatever bit of paper it was in this whole process so far. Does this mean I get one before we get my greencard and if so, how and when does that happen?

    thanks so much!!

Kiah - aren't you already married? Unless I'm confusing you with someone else... Assuming you're already married, which the I-130 tells me you are, you don't do a thing. You've already proven a legit marriage (that's the I-130 approval) and you don't have to apply for a green card. It will come to you in the mail. Same with your SS card, you should get one in the mail. No telling which one will arrive first, because two different gov't agencies handle each one. If you don't have something in your hand in about 30 days, I'd start checking. My hubby got SS card in about 2 weeks, no problems. He had to track down the green card, as he didn't get it. Found out that it had gotten lost somewhere in Texas and they had to send him a new one. They'll send it to the address you put on your application - if you will have access to getting that mail from that address, I wouldn't try to change it. It's just confuses the poor buggers....

Yes, i am already married and have done i-130 etc however, i dont remember paying $985 for form i-485 which is for adjustment of status to PR. If i have not filled this out, do I need to do it? Is there a way to check if i have filled it out? That would be awesome if we dont have to do that...I can think of plentty things to use the money we set aside for it! new bed maybe.....LOL

As for the address, that would be Kiah's address in the US right? Because, when my visa comes next week hopefully, I will be leaving on the 22nd.

Is it true that with the passport I will get a sealed envelope which must only be opened by customs at the POE?

thanks once again Laury you have no idea how much I appreciate your help and patience with my constant river of questions!!

The adjustment of status in only for folks not doing consular processing - those that can stay in the US and get a green card. Doesn't apply to you. The only thing I can see that you have left is taking the conditions off your green card if you've been married less than two years. If you've been married more than 2 years when the green card is issued, you won't have to do this. How long have you been married?

If Kiah's address is the one you put, that is where it will be sent. Some people move during the waiting time, so they have to change the address with USCIS. It's a pain in the rear.

Yes, you will get a sealed envelope. Do not open it; if it's open or tampered, you will have trouble at the POE and they can deny you entry.

    Yeah for you!
