I have longed for this day when I get to be the one typing these words! we are approved!!!!!!!!

Thank you sooo much to Laury and Richi as well as everyone else who has helped us on our long journey-couldn't have done it without you!

In the end, the i-601 was expedited and approved within two weeks and now, just waiting on the embassy's visa unit to contact me with intructions for courier pick up of my passport!! I can't believe it!! I am so happy!!!!!

The whole thing took two years and at times I felt it was never going to happen with the NVC losing paperwork and messing us around but here we are. So DON'T GIVE UP! Keep fighting and praying hard and God will sort things in His time. That's one lesson I learned the hard way!

PS: we did it all without a lawyer!

FYI: the USCIS field director is Elliot Cook. he is the one who took our case from start to finish. for those interested I have contact details for him. He is just supposed to deal wit expedite requests but he did ours all the way through. I also have the number for visa unit which is NOT the £1.50 p/m
one. It REALLY does help to deal with individuals rather than a faceless gvt dept. That way you can kee on top of them and let them see the people behind the forms!

just one small correction mr cooke is actually the field director for london and he is the one who ultimately give a yes or no,he doesnt just deal with expedites...

I said that he is the field director and i was going on what he told me on the phone re: what he does and doesn't normally do. And BTW, it is spelled Cook

excellent! im so happy for you and you should be proud of yourselves that you did it without any official legal help. its really a testament to this site that we see another approval! fantastic.

on a side note, val and gary from visa journey, and i believe they posted here too, were approved on saturday after some 'technical issues' / admin issues at the us consulate in london. their i601 was for a 1 yr + overstay. london is on a bit of a roll!

now the hard prt begins, you've done the easy part.....to get your passport to and from london with the fantastic courier! my personal opinion, the premium service sucks! seriously, for the sake of a few hours, the extra cash aint worth it...ive known of 3 cases including my own that they refunded the extra cost as they were unable to deliver at the requested time!

Thanks Richi! we are really proud we did it on our own and resisted the scare tactics of all the shark like immigration lawyers!
How long did you have to wait on the visa unit contacting you? I know it was right around Christmas for you so maybe a bit slower? I got told they would have our waiver approval either Monday or Tuesday. We were lucky in that we know someone who works for US Airways and he is getting me on a flight the day after I have the visa in my hand for around £150 so im packing up right now.
