    WOOHOO! Approved

    Just received our approval letter dated July 11th. now we are just waiting for the instruction letter. I am so happy that this nightmare is finally ending and our family will be whole again. This has been a long crazy and very expensive process. We were backlogged and then denied last summer. We decided at that time it was time to change lawyers. She helped us make our packet stronger and provide more evidence eventhough she said our packet was fairly strong already. So we applied for a motion to reopen, hoping they would overturn their original decision and they DID!!! I am so happy!

    congrats! i am glad you were able to stay strong through this to eventually get what you deserve!!
    april 2002-husband EWI...we met soon after / december 29, 2008-our daughter was born / august 22, 2009-we got married!
    sept. 24, 2009-started immigration process / april 15, 2010-I-130 approved / october 26, 2010-husband left for CDJ
    october 27, 2010-physical exam-found out his chest x-ray was abnormal...had to undergo testing & wait 3 months...no appt. yet
    january 21, 2011    -wait is over...husband cleared medically & allowed to have 1st visa appt.
    march 29, 2011-waiver appt. / march 30, 2011-date on referral notice (DHL arrived april 5) need more time to review gov't records
    september 12, 2011-APPROVAL NOTICE ARRIVED!! dated september 8, 2011 / october 3, 2011-202# confirms that approval is in the system
    october 6, 2011-instruction letter arrived dated september 30, 2011 / october 10, 2011-husband goes back to CDJ to renew medical exam
    december 19, 2011-passport shipped via DHL to consulate / january 3, 2012-visa in hand...14 LONG months later!!
    january 10, 2012-entered into USA via Atlanta airport / january 30, 2012-SS card arrived! / february 1, 2012-green card arrived!

    we are very happy for your approval!
    What do you mean backlogged and then denied? Denied like you were given a life time bar or a 10 year ban? So then you applied for motion to reopen?
    Do you have a timeline posted?

    We are on backlog and we are afraid for this to happen to us so I am trying to gather as much information as I can on the process and what other people do...
