Js wife, sorry to hear that y'all weren't immediately approved. I hope they're speedy with the extra checks though. Those seem to go through in 4-12 weeks or so, right? That seems to be the timeline I've seen most often.

I am sorry! Atleast you know that is all they are waiting for and you do not have to run around and try to figure out what kind of additional information you need to send in. I mean it seems like with that being the only box checked then you know that the "extreme hardship" was met. I know it is still hard when you have your heart set on something! I am a nervous wreck about ours already and we have not even heard from NVC yet.

I am so sorry about your husband not being immediately approved. They only checked the Govt records box and I honestly do NOT believe that it will take 8 to 12 months as they may say in the referral letter. Its just a matter of them checking govt records... bc you have met the extreme hardship criteria. You are right , he probably has a common name. Hang in there and maintain a positive attitude ... you ,your daughter and your husband need to stick together and you all will make it out of this headache like true champs. Good luck and please keep us informed about any updates .

We were referred just for gov. check only and in few days will be 4 months since referral notice. Hope this helps with timelines.
