I called DHS, Accra yesterday and was told my petition has been approved and sent back to the Lagos consulate. It's been a journey but I am glad its coming to a happy ending soon.

Good luck to all of you with pending cases.

I filed the 601 in September and got approved a few days ago - about 5 months later. I called Accra every two weeks.

Congratulations! Those of us who have to go through Accra are overjoyed for your waiver approval! There aren't many on this site--Could you please post what the I-601 was for, or maybe your approved hardship letter? Thanks! and once again Congratulations! It was a pretty fast approval!

Mine was a medical-based I-601 petition so no hardship letter was required.

hi,nellag, congrats on ur i-601 approval, i applied for the same for my wife on medical grounds, through accra ghana from lagos nigeria, the one question i have is when we submitted the package to the u.s embassy in lagos, they didnt take the letter from my wife stating she will pose minimal risk of transmission and am worried about that since i believe that is one of the main requirement required by the embassy in addition to the medical insurance e.t.c
was wondering, did u gothrough the same experience,if not what document did u submit to overcome that issue.
thanks hope i hear from u soon.
