Daniel, how effective is having your congressman involved in a case where an Afile is taking forever to be transfered to a local office for an interview?.

Ok Daniel my wife and i did go to the congressman's office and my wife signed the privacy of records statement and they said they will get on it....they told us it takes a week to get an answer if the file is at the office (which it is i found that out yesterday at my infopass..it came on the 15th) and a month if they file isnt at the office so hopefully i might get that letter soon.

Update:My lawyer called me yesterday and told me he recieved my interview letter,the interview is on March 11th...:thumbup:

Carribeanman, it seems like we're in a same boat with I130 and court hearings and all... Just wanted to ask you if you filed I485 already or not. My wife and I have have our stokes and MC hearing coming up in few months and our lawyer said we can file before or after... just wanted some feed back from you who's going through similar situation. Cman, not yet... stokes interview coming up in few mos... as a matter of fact, our MC is a week BEFORE the stokes interview... how about that... I know we can get continuance, but we're actually thinking about going... I'll keep u posted.

can you clarify what constitutes an approved I130? I have a stokes interview coming up does that mean I have an approved I130? or do I have to pass the stokes interview to have an approved I130?

You will have to pass the stokes interview to have your I-130 approved...just make sure all you answers match and go with alot of evidence.We had a regular interview which went well.Good luck and keep me updated..:)
