I was real excited about receiving a letter today from USCIS... but onced I opened it and saw the words REJECTION NOTICE, I felt my intestines crunch up together.
This is what the notice says:
The date on the check/money order you submitted is not current. Please resubmitt your application/petition with a currently dated check/money order to the address listed on the bottom of this notice.
GRR!! :bang: I've been waiting a whole month for this, and when I saw the envelope, I was relieved that are case was actually going to start moving... but now we are back to were we started.... I'm going to be contacting my lawyer tomorrow to see what is going happened. I know they sent the application when I wrote the check.. so I don't know what went wrong  :please:

WOW, this is the first time I have heard this happen. Please do contact your lawyer to see what did go wrong here. A member with more experience will chime in with more advice.

What date was on the check that you wrote? Even if the paperwork was submitted with a check that had been written a month before, they would accept it. Chances are it was more like the check was dated 2007 or something like that.

I will be checking with my Lawyer tomorrow. I also think I might have put 1/21/07 on the check since that usually happens to me with getting use to the new year... ohh noooo.. I feel so stupid if it was my error...
Thanks for your advice guys!!

Don't worry Diana, just resubmit the application with the correct date on the check. I also made a mistake when I filled in my hubby's info instead of my info on one application. They also sent it back to me. Yours won't be hard to fix.
