We recently filed our I-130 paperwork and my husband asked me if his current job could be in jeopardy because it is listed on the form.
Does anyone have an idea? Is there a chance his company could be contacted this early in the game?
I know it is important to list everything and not lie or withhold information.
He has a good job--gets paid more than I do (but then again, I am an elementary school teacher, so that makes sense ) and wants to hang on to it as long as he can.
Thanks.

Hi there,
We filed our I-130 back in Jan 2005, and listed his current employer as well. So far, nothing has happened, he's still working there, and plans on doing it until we leave to our 1st interview. I had a consultation with a lawyer not too long ago, and asked her if USCIS/ICE goes after employers that are listed on I-130 or other immigration forms, she said no. I even asked her that if the company owner wrote a letter for my husband's interview, if they would be affected in any way, she said no. So far, I have never heard of anyone in this forum having an issue with this.
Good luck!

I would not be concerned about this whatsoever. Of course anything is possible, but I don't think anyone here has ever mentioned their spouse's employer being contacted at any point during the entire process.

No one on our I-130 was ever contacted.

We filed the AOS which included the I-130 in 2004 and nothing ever happened.
But, before we filed, a disgruntled person reported the large amount of illegals working at this place and most illegals were gone by the time my husband actually got the green card. (perhaps there was a flag?)
I think it was a pure coincedence, but we have since left this place of employment and I hear that only legal people work there now.
