Hi All... I have a consultation with laurel scott on Monday and I wrote some things that would be included in my our waiver and I would love to get some feedback or other ideas to add.... I havent even started the formal writing yet. just writing my ideas.... Thanks :)

Need to have spinal surgery for 5 herniated discs in my neck and back also suffers from fybromyalgia recovery time after surgery is months even years…
Not able to take my son out of the country due to he is from a pervious marriage and father won’t allow my son to move within 40 miles from his home.
Son has expressed that he doesn’t want to live with his biological dad and that husband and son have formed a solid bond.
Son suffers from ADHD.. Mood disorder… anxiety.. Meds taken rispertal, triliptal, concerta.. If left untreated statistics show that there is a high rate of suicide.
Son also has severe allergies to mold and other era tints.
I have needed to be treated for depression and anxiety
Since my parents deaths a year and half ago.. I have been living in the home they built.. My father owed 290.000 to IRS and there is a lean on the home and we are in court preceding at this time which can take months to years to resolve, and the house cannot be sold until this is rectified. I promised my mom at death that I would take care of their estate and my brothers and sister.
I responsible along with my brothers and sister to pay for the upkeep of the family home, since my sister and younger brother own their own homes my brother and I are responsible for all house related bills with out my contributions we would have to abandon the home that my parents built with their love.
My youngest brother who has tried to commit suicide several times in his life due to mental conditions has always counted on me for support and understanding through his difficult times. His fear that drove him to try to end his life has been the fear of loss. With the deaths of my parents I have been there for him even as I try to deal with my own losses.
I have been the victim of spousal abuse from my pervious marriage and I found the man that helped me heal and trust again. He helped me find strengths that I did not know I even had and the fear had seemed to dissipate ..
We would like to have a child and due to my age I am at high risk for problems…When I was pregnant with my son I had gestational diabetes.
Religious beliefs due to the fact that I have a non denominational religion there is no church in Albania
Albania has a high infant mortality rate
Sherry and Daniel does not speak the language
Unemployment rate is high
Crime and corruption is high in Albania
Power outages pos risk of food borne illnesses.
Epidemic of the avian flu
School drop out rate for children 15 and up high
Expense of phone bills to keep connected.. And high price of traveling back and forth to Albania

You have quite a few good hardships. The problem is not in the hardships you have, it is in how you prove them. You have to have the research and evidence and state how it will affect you. I know in Mexico it has to be short, sweet, and to the point to get approved that day. If you do not have your hardships proved you will be put in backlog which can cause a stay in Mexico for up to a year or more.

You can use medical records, letters from your doctors, a letter from your son's doctor, a letter from son's dad about not allowing to move far, etc. You just have to use the ones you can collect the most evidence for.

Good Luck...I have just finished my HSL and am in the process of collecting the letters from my mom's doctor and my doctor. It is a long process, but it is worth it.

Good luck with your waiver process. Among the things you mentioned are the makings of a good HSL. I have just been looking for information about Albania as it's a country I know little about. Not sure about that religious angle though - seems Albania has always been pretty tolerant of different religions and although religion was stamped out by the Communists for many years since the early 90s it's making a comeback. But anyway that's only minor, you have stronger arguments.

Your health problems and your son are very strong arguments. Don't worry, Laurel will point you in the right direction. Your strongest hardships will be the bulk of your argument. Getting letters from your doctors regarding your condition and treatment is a must, as is any medical or court ordered info about your son, such as custody and visitation agreements etc.

Best of luck to you.

Mosaic...

I have a lot of good documents on mental health in Albania and Eastern europe- my son is bi-polar/ adhd.

The cost of the meds... lack of ability to get meds there... lack of pharmaceutical integrity... lack of qualified education... lack of psych treatment were my highest hardships...

That and my sister in US had cancer and bipolar issues (tried to commit suicide this past fall) and my dad's heart problems...

but you have your own health issues- I didn't- except that I had major pregnancy problems. I have great info on lack of decent pre-natal and post natal care as well since you had a problematic pregnancy.

PM me if you want some of my source material.
