hey everyone. i got a quick question. i know the waiver filign fee is $545. my question is should i make a cashiers check for that much amount or wat? i have a $ accnt her in Pak. Should i just goto my bank and get a draft for 545 and in the name of whom? i mean should it be to "Department of Homeland and Security" name?
i believe embassy in Pakistan do not accept cash....someone here on this board also told me that minor mistake in fee and they wont accept it......
Thanks in advance...

I tried looking on the Islamabad US embassy website but I can't find that specific information. It does seem you pay at the embassy (but it does specifically mention the waiver fee, they are talking about other visa fees). For some reason my computer stalls when I try to look around more on that site. Do they accept phone calls? (at the embassy I am dealing with, they have certain limited calling hours; you can e-mail but sometimes they are too busy to reply). Not all the embassies are the same in how you pay the waiver fee. My fiance had to pay at a certain bank first, get a receipt and bring it instead of paying the embassy directly. I hope you can get in touch with them and find out how to pay - check, perhaps credit card?

I think this is something you would need to contact the embassy for. It's not on the information sheet they gave you for filing?
I remember someone specifically talking about Pak having a bank that you paid the fee at (I could be misremembering. . .)

In Guatemala I had a cashier check from my bank and they would not take it. They prefer that you pay with a visa or bank card.

The website provides fees in US dollars or the Pakistani Rupee equivalent. That leads me to believe they accept cash - I cannot imagine that they don't. It's strange that the website doesn't clarify how fees can be paid. Hope you can find out.
"At the time of the interview the applicant pays an IV Processing fee prior to taking the oath and being interviewed.
IV Processing Fee - US $400.00 or Pakistani Rupee equivalent ($355 application processing + $45 worldwide security surcharge)"

yea i think KitKat1 that they do accept cash for IV processing fee but for waiver filing they dont accept cash as i remember they told me same at the time of my interview. The lady providing me info about waiver process rite after my interview didnt know it either and later on i forgot to ask her.
Did i tell u that they almost missed my BIa appeal decision during my interview and were blaming me for that saying that they returned it back to me and i lost it. And guess what? after an hour long argument they found it stuck in their copier.
I am sorry i guess i m just too frustrated.

At the consulate in my country takes cash ONLY in $ or local money equivalent to $ 545. I'm not going thru Pak, though. Anyway, in what cases that we pay for the IV at the consulate/embassy? Thanks.
