if you arean illegal immigrant in the US would it be ok to marry my boyfriend who is a citizen ...and what will i have to go through for legal staus... ive heard that they ask you very personal questions when you go for an appointment and they spy on you..... is this true? if yanyone has any info regarding this please let me know. Thank youuu

Well, you can certainly get married, but they probably aren't going to spy on you, and actually they will never really ask any very personal questions at all, except maybe at the medical exam.

What country are you from? If you entered the country illegally you will eventually have to leave the U.S. for your consular interview, but please clarify if you have entered illegally or just overstayed a visa first. If you entered illegally, please start looking at the I-601 Mexico (or other countries) area.

Yes they can ask personal questions. It depends. Some people are drilled more than others. I have read stories on these message boards before about the IO asking a married couple "separately" personal questions to "weed out" the fake marriages.
It could happen.

I have the heard similar story as well, that they will come to your house to check on you, ask you where is your husband/wife. I think they only do that when they think that your marriage isn't real..

I think they only ask those personal questions in very rare circumstances. In Ciudad Juarez, they don't even allow the US citizen spouses into the consulate during the interview. If there is a huge age difference between the couple, or if there is something else that makes them seem like an odd couple, perhaps they'd be drilled more. However, if it is indeed a real marriage, you have nothing to worry about.
