Want to travel to Canada and want to invite B1/B2 visa holder with us.
Can he re-enter US after a few days?

Shouldn't be a problem, B1/B2 is a multiple entry visa. I did it many years ago before I became a resident. Just make sure you stop by immigration on the US side on your way out.

I remember something about one entry per 6 mo. period, even if it is a multipe entry visa.
Will have to call them, I guess. But WHERE?

Canada is only relevant in that it does not usually result in another 6 months. Just the balance.
But amy admittance is up to the POE Officer depending on the individual circumstances, there is no pre clearance.
