can one file the waiver at the time of interview? my attorney says no, but seems like people have done it in the past. if someone is going to be denied at the time of the interview anyways ( permanent inadmissability), why not be able to file the waiver at the same time.
on the other hand, the visa are denies/issues by the state department and wiavers are by cis.
thanks

What country are you filling thru? Hubby and I are going thru Honduras (although my husband is from Nicaragua) and for all the info I've read the waiver packet can be turned in on the day of the interview, the only place that I've read that you need a second appt is Mexico because they have the pilot programs which is alot better because of the possibility of getting the approval that same day.

It depends on the consulate you're going through.

I was able to file my wavers the same day as my interview. But I had to wait till the end when the interviewer told me he had to denied my visa and then he asked if I had a waiver to present. I said yes and he gave me a slip to go pay for it and then I had to hand it in to the intake officer.
I am in Canada and am tying to go through the Montreal Consulate. I am not sure how other consulates work. I think it also depends if you qualify to submit the waiver.

can one file the waiver at the time of interview?

Welcome Tikhons,
It depends on which consulate you are going through. Each country seems to have their own procedure. We filed thru Lima via Rio and had to have another appointment to file the waivers. Typically in Brazil they will not accept the waiver on the same day as the interview.
What country are you filing through?

Filed ours through Honduras and they took the waiver when we had our appt. (paid for it after the initial inrterview).

Filed in Sydney on the same day.
We had to wait for the denial, pay the fee ($US545) and fill in an extra document, then I filed that with the waiver that i2us helped me develop.

Could have filed the same day or day after (Seoul) but did not have one prepared. Consulate said we could file in the next day but they must not have known all the work that goes into preparing it.

if your going through Albania you can't file the same day as interview. They will give you a other appointment date.

Yes, Guatemala does accept it the same day. However, I think they have a limit of how many waivers can be filed per day.
