Hi everyone, I have been reading some post and seen some people were called when thier I-601 was approved, others received notice by email or mail. Just wanting to take a poll on how you were notified that your I-601 was approved and what country it was approved in. Thanks!

ours was approved through Mexico and I called 202-663-1541 and asked if a decision had been made on our case. They said no decision yet. Then a few days later we got a letter in the mail that said we were approved.

By Mail. Franfurt, Germany :) Frankfurt doesn't give out infos over the phone 'cept for general inquiries. You go deeper than that, they would say "I'm sorry, we're not allowed to give out the information over the phone" deal.

Same as Ratito..I received the approval letter via mail. Our waiver was approved June 11, 2006. I contacted 202# everyday since when egonzalez was approved..they kept telling me it was pending until 7/9, when the information was finally entered into their system.

I actually was checking the UCSIS website for information on how to submit a change of address and decided to plug in his case # to check on the status of his waiver-and there was a message about it being processed for approval.
We then called the 800# and it was confirmed. However, I don't think we really believed it was approved until the notice came in the mail a couple of days later! so, we got the approval/welcome notice and then his greencard a week or so later. We filed in SF, CA.

I SO wish there was a USCIS site where I could check for Panama!!! That would be awesome!

Mine went through Frankfurt ( as I recall yours there as well) and Frankfurt send mail to me ( I was the one who inadmissible). Also, they emailed senator (who was asking them of a status of our case) in 24 hours after the approval and she was the one who CALLED my husband. It took about 2.5 weeks for letter to show up in the mail after the senator’s phone call.
I hope that you would not have to wait for a long time. Good luck.

Good day. Just a quick question, did you file an In-Country I-601? Need some tips please.....

We filed our I-601 in Czech Republic (where my hubby is from) at the time of our interview. There we had our I-601 package ready to present. She then forwarded that unto Vienna, Austria where it sat for 5 months and then went to Frankfurt, Germany where it was approved within 2 months.
I don't know anything about the in-country I-601. Best of luck to you!

Our DIL called the consulate in Rio, Brazil where she had filed the I-601. One of the workers (who had been nice to our DIL on previous calls and she had built a rapport with) told her that the waiver was back from Lima, Peru; it was on the supervisor's desk and she would receive a letter in the mail soon. The letter arrived at her home in Brazil less than a week later.
