Hello there,
I am a canadian citizen, married to a USC. on September 16th, 2006, we filed for I-130, I-485, etc...
We went for the initial interview in Philly on Jan. 19th, 2007. We were requested to file I-601, we sent it March 23rd, 2007. Up to this day, we have not heard anything, not even a notice of receipt, apart from the postal return receipt and evidence of payment by check. I need to have my DL renewed by April 2008. I am worried, anyone with a similar case or any advice? Much thanks.

yep, we had an in country waiver but we filed it together with the adjustment of package paper. At the interview that we had mid january 2008 we just submitted an affidavit from me for the waiver together with all supporting docs. As of now I have not heard anything.
What was your waiver for?

Hi Sorry I haven't checked teh site lately. My waiver was for a minor misrepresentation to a Border Officer in 2005. I said that I still have a job in Canada. We submitted the I-601 along with all the required documents in March 2007 and to this day, I haven't heard anything. We are worried.

the length of time for an in-country waiver is a guess, sorry to say.
so is that true you must be a US citizen to get a DL in PA? that's a bit crazy-i thought our state was bad...
i'd get in touch with one of your congresspersons this month sometime and explain your situation (not saying it will help, but surely won't hurt!)
best of luck!

After reading this message I contacted the Office of my US Senator and requested assistance, I sent them all the documents including a letter from the DMV requesting for my change of status in order to renew my DL. I really hope that it does help, I am very anxious. Thank you so much, I never knew you can contact our elected officials, they actually have people who take care oif such issues. Thanks to immigrate2US.net for a wealth of info & support.

I filed 601 and 212 in Calfornia for my husband in May 2007, till this date, afte many many tries including help of congrressman, they are saying they cannot locate my forms. They cashed the darn fees alright but didnt put any case # on the back. My husband filed both forms again in mumbai last week. We have waisted our money and time by filing here in United States. I know the instructions said to file at the time of the interview the visa consulate but you can file it here with your i-130 petition...and thats what I did. Unless you got sh*T load of money and have time to waste, I would say go head and file it and see what happens.....but unlike me, i wouldn't suggest anyone to do it...this is one excuse INS use to chew up your damn money and give you reply with bad attitudes.
