Hi everyone, I was just curious on what people's time lines were for thier I-601 waiver to be approved. I'm especially curious about Frankfurt's, but would love to hear about everyones experience in general.

Thanks! Paul and Kerri

Hi Paul & Kerri,

I hear it's 20 weeks I believe Mexico would be alot longer. Are you getting the Status reports from the HSL website? Also have you received the card stating that they have your I601? It should be 20 weeks from the time you receive that. I said 15 weeks sorry about that. That's how long I believe we have left. Good luck and keep us posted!!!

Our I-601 waiver was submitted to Vienna, Austria on January 22, 2007. They forwarded the waiver unto Frankfurt, Germany on June 12, 2007 for final adjudication because there office was experiencing backlog and they said it would be processed faster in Frankfurt. Other places I read online said that Frankfurt is pretty fast, taking 4-6 weeks with waivers and have a good approval record. We emailed Frankfurt this week and they said our case would be adjuducated in the next 60-90 days. Don't seem right to me when our case was sitting in Vienna for over 5 months. Also from what we were seeing about Vienna was that they were 6 months out. We just hope and pray that the email we got back from Frankfurt was a general response and that they didn't really look at our case, only on what it was regarding.

How do you check the HSL website? We have never received any card that our I-601 was received. It first was sent to Vienna as you can see more of our information on my above post.

Is the 15-20 weeks you are hearing about for Frankfurt or other countries in general?

Thanks!

Hi Paul and Kerri,

Try going to the Frankfurt website. It may be Frankfurt.usembassy.gov. Go into immigration visa A-Z go down to USCIS click on immigrant visa something on the right side should say I 601 click on that scroll down and it should say check status of I 601. clue your reciept number is your File number on your visa application so i.e. three letters for the country then the year you filed then 6 numbers ZZZ 2005 123232. if you have problems with that just go onto USCIS website and fiddle around with it or goto the u s embassy website in germany. It might take a while but you'll get it. Good luck!!!

OK, false alarm....London and Rome have these sites where you can check the status of your waiver, the links are posted in the stickys. Also for those filing through VSC you can check through USCIS online but the other countries do not have this service as of yet. I just spent some time trying to come up with it as I thought they had started to post as well...but not so....

I am thinking that other consulates may come on line with this very valuable information but as of now it is not available.

Yeah, that was our understanding too. We can't check the status of our waiver on the government websites. Trust me, we have looked and searched and nothing. We also don't have a receipt number for our waiver, just our case number. Though I don't think it would make much difference seeing we are dealing with government offices overseas and not directly in the States. I'm glad for that, as the States take much much longer to finalize their stuff.

Hello Paul and Kerri,
Receipt number was given when you filed I-130, when you got the notice of approval.......of I-130.
