I have a cousin trying to get his green card for more than 10 years. His parents had filed for him and his sister, when they were both still under age 18. The person who helped them fill out the paper did it wrong. His parents finally got something resolved (about 5 years ago), but only for his sister. Now he tells me that there is nothing he could do because he lost all proof that he had filed before 2001 and INS can not find anything under his name. Has anyone hear anything similar to his case. Is there anything he could do?
