Does anyone have the Furmanator? We must do something about all of this hair!

PS - we have a chocolate lab.

YES! i LOVE my ridiculously expensive furminator, though i have it for a cat. she's a short hair cat (a chartreux) and i swear, the first time i furminated her, an entire little cat came off. she loved it, too.

I bought one but it didn't work for me! What am I doing wrong??

you have to go kind of hard. when i did it at first no hair came off but i started kind of using it like a comb and a bunch of hair came off--i actually cut a big chunk out of her back fur and she looks really funny, since chartreux cats have a gray coat and a white undercoat...

maybe I'll try and get one again. I tried to use it like a comb too. That would really be helpful for me.

I've heard before that Labs/Retrievers shed hair equal to their body weight each year! We have a Golden Retriever now (and Labs in the past), so it is easy to believe. If expensive I think I'll just put the kids to work brushing the pets.

I totally believe it! We always tell her that we're "making her a sister" when we brush her! I wonder if it is safe and if they really don't need all of that hair that is brushed off?

I have 2 golden retrievers, and I bought the ferminator, I LOVE IT! I couldn't believe the under fur that came out, I could have stuffed 2 pillows.

I obviously need to google this! I have 2 large lab mixes & 2 cats. i am going nuts with all this hair. I sweep everytday, wipe everything and still hair!
I am not in a position to have my dogs or cats outside.

I am going to RUN to the nearest store after reading all the reviews!
i did have to laugh at one person who I quote said their cat "shed like it was an olympic sport"
I am desperate...here's hoping this helps.

Be careful, there are imposter ferminators out there. I got mine from HSN.com. I have seen others in stores for cheaper, but I am not sure how good they are.

I went to petsmart.
OMG! It really works! Now just to convince 3 out 4 that they really do love being brushed! LOL
I am praying it helps the overall problem in the house!

Okay, I got mine, too. I'm starting a Furminator fan club.

great idea! LOL
On the one cat who loves to be brushed, I can already see a HUGE difference in the amount of hair removed. It is going to take some time to get the other 3 pets used to the brushing though.

I just bought one of these things on ebay....I hope it works.

It works great...but only when you use it:D
I admit I am guilty of not being consistent with the brushing. We have 2 cats and 6 dogs! The main dog that desparately needs it is not too fond of brushing but is growing to like the furinator.

I recommend to use it outside, the fur really flies around when you use it, particularly if you are brushing fast. I have 2 golden retreivers, lots of fur.

Ive often wondered if its really worth the money! :) We have two dogs, a lab mix and a ****er spaniel, and then two cats... so LOTS of hair.. what size did you all go for if you have both cats and dogs?

Do you think it works on guinea pigs too??? ;) JK!!!!!

well i have a cat and a small dog, so i use the cat brush on both of them. there is a different size for large dogs...so i dunno.
