Hi everyone this is my first time in this forum. Let me tell you guys a little about myself. I got married in 2006 and I stared the whole immigration process in the same year. My husband then got his appointment letter on October 2007, and his appt in Juarez was on November 2007.With the help of God my husband got approved at his info pass appt on December 2007. We had a lot of emotions and it felt great that this nightmare was all over. But not quite jet. I was wondering if anyone has this similar situation like ours. When my husband had his infopass appt. he got some papers with instructions regarding his Permanente residency. It states that:

“If you are adjusting through marriage and have less than two years of marriage, than your visa is considered conditional. In the term of 20 months, you and your spouse need to present yourselves at the office nearby of Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services and have proof of marriage and that you and your spouse are still living together. It is an obligation that you must report at USCIS (visit the website uscis.gov/graphics). If you do not do this, than you are at risk of losing your residency and can turn to deportation.”

Is this true? Anyone heard of this? Then when my husband gets his PR, is it valid for that time, than he get his 10 year one? I am so confused. Please anyone have suggestions. By the way we visited that site stated above and we got an error that it is no longer available. I don’t know what to do. I will appreciate any comment on this thanks.

For what I've read here if you are married less than 2 years then you get that conditional visa, after the 2 years then if you guys are still married he would get the 10 year card, anyone please correct me if I'm wrong.

so then would i need to report to immigration at our state and tell them what? Were here to prove that we are married? And need to get the 10 year GC? (sorry if it sounds dumb but I want to be clear on that)

He will have to go to renew his gc and I guess they will ask him if he is still married to you and verify that everything he says is the truth about the marriage, I'm thinking bills among other things you guys share together.

Does his green card say CR on it? That just means it's conditional. After two years you just have to file an I-751 to remove the conditions. It's no big deal, you don't necessarily need an interview or anything - don't worry!

Laura why in some cases they do require an interview to remove the condition?

I guess if they doubt the relationship there is an interview, but not always.

We are still waiting for his GC to arrive.

Anyway, this is totally normal!

Here's another person who is about to file to remove the conditions:

Sorry about this one Sara , I thought that the interview part was for everyone since we have a couple of friends that have gone thru this recently so I thought it was a new thing since they change the rules so often.
