So I have been scrapbooking a while. I have done quite a few pages and I thought I would share some of my pages with you.

This first one is a memory page of my step dad.

This is a page for of my niece and nephew. It's not done. It will say "cute as a button" on it and I am going to glue some buttons on the middle of the flowers.

I am thinking of changing this one, but this is my husband and I on our wedding day.

This one is of my husband and his kids and then his mom too.

Here is my step sons page when he was little. Say Just like Dad on it.

This one is made to look like a present and on the tag it says the kids names. These are my step kids and nieces and newphew in Mexico. I am going to change the ribbon on it. right now it is made of paper, but I bought real ribbon to replace it.

I know Cynthia it is NOT a cheap hobbie. I was buying stuff today and it was $3.99 just for a little packet of stickers, but I need a hobbie that never ends. Like when you knit or something like that when you complete that item you have to think about what to do next, who to make it for, and all that stuff. With scrapbooking I have a continuous amount of pictures and the project just keeps going and going.

Oh good idea for a thread! I made one for my mom and took pictures so I could redo it for me...eventually.

I love using stickers and then stencils, although stenciling can take a long long time. We used to have scrapbook parties with my friends and talk and laugh and work on our stuff but no one has time anymore, not even once a month

Well that was the beauty of our group, we each had SOME of the tools so we all shared. I don't have the cutting ones, I borrowed those from my friend. We would just take turns.

Ok 2 more, i lied

I used to live in Korea and we have pictures of us in our kimonos. This is one that my dad brought back for me in high school that I used to hang on the wall. It's too small though. They should hang all the way to the floor.

Marie your book is awesome! And your little girl is too cute. Your photos are great.

I would love to scrapbook but I know I would go broke in a hurry. But I'm saving pics for a rainy day, one day I'll muster up the nerve to buy a scrapbook and the paper and things to go along with it. One day! :)

Marie, I love your daughter's hair! I want a little girl with red hair!!! (could happen too, since it runs in my family). Your pages are beautiful.
We have crops once a month with the girls also. And you're right- its much cheaper that way because everyone has different tools that you borrow and plus all the laughing and catching up is fun too!

If all the scrapping stores near you are closing, you should definitely check out twopeasinabucket.com
They have great stuff online and tons of pages for ideas. I love that site.

Angela~ Your stepkids are adorable!!! You are getting pretty creative there, especially if you don't have any tools! I should post some of my layouts--but I'm just so darn lazy! LOL.

Marie, do you have Michael's or AC moore over there? They have scrapbooking stuff.... also Walmart/Target do too but they usually never have what I want!!

Creative Memories is obviously what you were using though and it's definitely the best product. This lady at my church used to sell it to me for what she paid and THAT was awesome!! I was a lucky girl!

Ebay has good stuff sometimes too!

As far as starting out...that's the most expensive part. Once you have it all it's not so expensive because you only need to buy little things as you need it. It's definitely worth it though and everyone always loves looking at the albums... it's much more interesting than just looking at a bunch of pictures!!

Marie

Yeah Kiki, I do use CM but it IS expensive and if they don't have what I want, I buy elsewhere, like the flowers on the blue pages, those aren't CM. My friend does it. I had another friend before and she was SO anal when you used stuff that wasn't CM.

What I really like though are the pages that fit. The perfect fit ones. I have to say though that I love the CM albums and some of their stickers. I wish they had more choices when it came to pens and stickers though.

I forget a lot about Michael's because it's not actually on a road I travel so i forget it's there. I'll have to check it out! I don't have money for CM right now..lol

Michael's isn't exactly cheap.. but it's cheaper than CM!! I knew people like that too though (freaking out if you used something other than CM) I too love their albums best and you're right... their sticker selection is a quite limited! They should elaborate more!! I like the way their pens write though. Nice and smooth and work for a long time!

Oh and I forgot to post on the other comment that your pages are very good :D You can do just as good without CM!!

marie those are awesome!!
yours too angela!
OK here's a little CHEAP trick that I have. From having baby showers, birthdays etc. I save the cards. Then I cut out all the cute words, pictures, etc. and use them in scrapbooks. I can't afford anything right now so it works for me.
One time my mom and I were garage saleing. We went to this one with TONS of scrapbooking stuff, I had been wanting to start so I offered $30 for everything.. she took it!! I couldn't believe it. I added up just the stickers she had on everything and it was over $100.
oh pooh I just saw your ticker.. congrats on quitting. I think the first few days are the hardest.. I think I had it easy because I was away from temptation, but I know sometimes its not always that easy.

My DIL just started doing this in her baby book. I have to try these links. I know there must be a scrapbook store here. I just have to find it. Yes, this stuff is expensive. I will see if I can get a picture of hers to share.

I just do not have the patience for it.

On my wedding (years ago) I recieved a scrap book really pretty cover. It came with a lot of materials and I even bought some more. I never got around to it. So now I think it would be nice to see some examples.

I love all the samples here. They are so creative and pretty!!

Getting started is the hardest part....I love ot scrapbook but never could find the time...even with all three of my kids in Mexico with my husband I couldn seem to get it done, so I started signing up for the all day or evening scapbooking events at the local scrapbook stores. They are usually $10-15 and here they either give you a store credit for supplies or some free samples. I could get 20 plus pages done in an evening...it is the best way for me. I have a big table at home with all my stuff but I hardly even get anything done unless I go to one of these events...

I've never heard of these events but they sound fun!

They are...most people usually go with a friend or a small group...they have food, product demos, sometimes drawing for free stuff and you get to see what others are doing to get ideas. I actually now prefer to go alone. It is still fun, but I get more done than when I go with friends. Also, be careful...if you don't watch it you can spend the whole night and way too much money buying stuff...the advantage and disadvantage of having the whole store right there...you should check it out...Is there an Archiver's near you?
