I have a question regarding a B1/B2 US Visa with "M" (multiple) entries with an annotation "attending wedding in (some city)". This Visa expires 10/30/08. The wedding this person plans to attend is not going to happen till September. The person with this visa wants to visit friends and relatives later this month for 2 weeks then return to his home country and then go back to US to attend the wedding in September. Is this allowed with such annotation? Or can he only visit the US for attending the wedding. I think he could since it has the "M" for multiple entries but I looked all over the internet can get a clear answer.

Say the first visit is to attend the bachelor party. (heh heh)

I really don't know the answer, sorry.

aztec,
I'm not sure anybody would know. Is the person flying to the US or crossing the border by car? Can the person change his plans depending on his/her job? Maybe visit friends/relatives and attend the wedding in September instead of coming twice?

He is crossing the border by car. No he can't change his plans to go to both places in September. He doesn't want to jeopordize his Visa.

I wonder if he calls the customs or border patrol office at the actual border if they would know.

Aztec,
Why would he jepordize his visa? They're going to ask how how long he/she will stay and he or she can say 3 weeks. Going to a wedding doesn't necessarily mean 2 or 3 days. It is a multiple visa. If the bride or groom is your best friend you can go before the wedding to visit them and then be at their wedding. Remember you have a lot of activities at weddings, including bachelor's or bachelorette's parties. Nobody would suspect anything but if they stamp in the passport that the person entered and then when it is really the time to come to the wedding in less than a year? Find out before the person does anything.

Can you call the consulate and question if the visa is indeed multiple entry even if it states for wedding only?
