We finially gave up watching Man on Fire for this one, which was really really good! It was funny to watch the character Eva because that's our oldest daughter's name and it'll be funny to see how she turns out.. hopefully not like the one in the movie!!

I liked this movie. It made me a little sad cause this movie is so true when it comes to schools. Mine was like this and at times it got really scary, but what happens in this movie is so positive and I love that it is based on a real story. I liked Dangerous Minds too, but Freedom Writers would have worked better in my HS then what happened in DM.

I liked Man on Fire a whole lot more than either of these two. There is a whole genre of movies that I find paternalistic. These naive, white women come into a school and through their hard work and determination, change the lives of these poor, downtrodden brown kids......I'd rather Stand and Deliver....at least that was about a Latino in that role....
just my $.02.
