Hello everyone. Thanks to this wonderful forum we are now approved!!! My husband should recieve his green card in 3-8 weeks the officer told us! :yay2:
Our interview today was at 10:45 am at the Centennial office in Colorado. We arrived almost on the dot because we were running late and we were called after 3-5 minutes of waiting. Our officer was a latina officer. She was very nice, took our oath and asked for both of our ID's, his SSN, and any passports (all we had is his I-94 which she said is called a border crossing card.... then she began to go through the packet that we had mailed. She asked my husband his address and compared his answer with the packet. She asked about our son and asked if I still work at my job. She asked if my mom lives with me (she is our sponsor). She went throught the "NO" questions on the I-485 with my husband. She asked if he is working and when he told her that today is his first day at 2:00, she said "Oh, well lets speed this up for you so you can make it on time!" She was really nice. She even told him good luck at his new job when we left. She asked why it took us so long to file since we were married since 2005. I explained money, and the fact that we always thought we had to use a lawyer. She asked him what is his father in laws name and she asked me what is my mother and father in law's name. Then she asked if we would like to give her anything else that wasnt in our packet and I gave her our joint bank statement, apartment lease and copies of email correspondences of our marriage classes. I asked if she would like mine or my mom's recent tax stubs, she said no. I asked if she would like to look at any of our photo albums and she did not. (we took 2 photo albums pre-marriage, our wedding album, and our son's album) She then said, "well everything looks great and I dont see a problem at all. I will be approving you next week because Im busy this week...so you will get the green card in about 3-8 weeks"
We were in our car by 11:15 am, so it was very quick!
I am so thankful for everyones help and would be happy to offer anyone else help/ advice if I can!
