My husband just recently became a PR. I am a US citizen. My question is what is the procedure to help my in-laws get a tourist visa to come visit us or possibly adjust their status. My mother in law has never entered the US and my Father in law has ewi in the past, but it has been a least 10 years ago. They are both elderly and have some medical conditions. Would I be able to assit them in coming here.
thanks

Once your husband becomes a citizen he can petition for them to become PRs if you want. It takes about the same amount of time as a spouse because parents are considered immediate relatives. Otherwise you can go the tourist visa route, which is sort of hit or miss. They'll have to apply in Mexico - GDL or Mexico City, and they'll have to prove they don't have immigrant intent.

If you want to help them obtain a tourist visa, I heard that it *may* help if the USC writes a letter for them to bring to the US consulate. I plan on writing one for my step-daughter to come and visit us from Brazil.
I am going to say how I will be responsible for here while she is here, yada yada.
