Is she having a chat this week? If so I was hoipng that someone could ask my question for me.

My case has been completed at the NVC as of DEC 2007. At the beginning of Dec. my dad died and he was my co-sponser for the Aff. of support for my husband's immigrant visa. My question is, do I have to notify the NVC? I plan on finding another co-sponser by the time of the interview. Do I just have my hubby give them the new I-864 at the time of the interview and should I attach a note to the Aff. of support explaining why we changed sponsers?

Mandy: I am so sorry for the loss of your father. I know someone will ask Laurel this question for you. I just wanted to say I'm sorry.

Laura, if you get a chance can you ask Laurel a question.

My question is..

I called the National Visa Center and my case was completed on December 13, 2007. Two weeks later my lawyer e-mails me and says that the NVC sent him a letter saying I needed to send my W-2's again. I had already resent them once and wouldn't have any new info to send them. My lawyer said "an interview will not be scheduled until we comply with this request".

My question is do I need to send this information if my case is already completed? Doesn't completed mean they are done with it and I just need to wait for an interview for my husband in CDJ?

Thanks Laura, I work when Laurel has her chats, maybe someday in the future I will get a chance to go to the chat.

I'm going to be at a national apt. association conference this morning so could you please ask her this question for me? I guess asking her during the chat would be ideal. Didn't feel it was appropriate last night during our girl chat ;)

Just summarize my friend's situation from this thread and ask her about it. Mainly I want to know what's the 1st step to find out her status and if she needs to start all over if she wants to become a citizen.

Thanx Laura! You're the best, as always!!!!! ~hugz~

My fiance tried to cross with a visa that was not his...he got caught, fingerprinted and got a 3 year bar...all this happened on Mexican soil...could this be considered a deportation?

LOL - no biggie. I did ask by the way, and she didn't answer... so either she's mad at you :bounce: or she just figured she would talk to you at some other time.

Thanks for asking the question for me. Yes, I know you work also, though I am glad you are able to get into the chat when you are at work. At my job it wouldn't work the best to get online, though I suppose I could try to take a lunch sometime that hour and go to the chat. Bad thing is half of the time when I am working I don't take a lunch.

Once again thanks for asking my question.

My job is a dream in some ways... My boss and I were talking today about how much law school reading I should be able to get done at work when I start in fall. He's aware of all our internet use and doesn't mind as long as we do our jobs well when we are busy.
