This is an IFC film. It is a little older and would already be on the main floor at your local video store. I picked this up last week cause I had heard it was interesting. It's about an "odd" soon to be 18 year old chubby girl who hangs out with the hot Pizza man (Ethan Embry) on her birthday cause she has no friends. It was a pretty good independant film. I did not like how immature they made the 18 year old girl. I know there are people who, still at 18, were not mature, but she acts like the word Penis is a bad word....I can't picture that at 18 for anyone. I watched the film with the Commentary from the director which made the movie more interesting to me. So I think this was a 3 out of 5 star. Was more rent worthy over Theather viewing.
Video Summary
In this sweet natured teen comedy, Matt (Ethan Embry) is a former High School hot shot and the worldest's oldest pizza delivery guy who can't seem to get life started. Vibrant newcomer Kylie Sparks plays Cara-Ethel, a wise beyond her years eccentric brainiac who is determined to live it up on her 18th birthday. After Matt finds her celebrating her birthday alone she joins him as he makes his rounds, falling into one comic adventure after the next. Reminiscent of the classic teen comedies of the 80's, Pizza is a slice of life comedy about a surviving high school and getting a taste of what its like to live.
Personally I think "wise beyond her years" is not how she should be described, but it was like I said a pretty good independant film. Now for those who watch IF's compared to Hollywood films they will see a difference.
