I'd like to thank everyone for your support!!!
The interview went great!!!
I will post a detailed script of the interview itself (in hope that it will help others in the future!!! I know that everyone who posted their experience here helped us a lot!)
She was very pleasant, did not make us feel like criminals at all, and was very quick too!!! It lasted a total of 15 minutes!!! And of those 15 minutes, we must have spoken to her (and she to us) a total of about 5 minutes (if that much!!!)...the rest was the frantic flipping of our file, and making notes, and checking boxes, etc!!!
Well, we don't necessarily have the great news of having my husband's passport stamped (we were so disappointed!!!)...however, we were relieved that it was due to no fault of our own!!!
It turns out that the doctor who did his medical, forgot to check one of the boxes at the end of the Vaccine Supplement Form, and I guess that info was vital to her knowing whether or not he was all set with his medicals or not...
So she could not stamp his passport yesterday because the I-485 application could not be completely approved due to that detail. We were really mad though... we worked so hard to put everything together really carefully, cover all our basis, and then this happens!!! But I guess it was meant to happen because we couldn't have known anyway...not only the envelope is sealed, but I wouldn't know myself if the box he forgot to check was a mandatory box anyway...
Well... the good news is: She approved our I-130 right there and then (big approved stamped on the form!!!) and she told us everything else was in order, that she was happy with everything and that she would be recommending it for approval pending the new medical being submitted...
The only thing she told us though, is that now that is technically "out of the normal process" this whole thing may delay him getting the green card, because she has to forward this to this other department which will be waiting for the paperwork in order to approve it...so it's out of her hands...and she was also surprised that nobody had caught this before, and had not sent us and RFE before...but anyway...she said we were better off this way anyway, because if they had sent us an RFE, we probably would not have gotten an interview until mid to end January, because it would have delayed us (when these things happen they take us out of the normal timeline)...
So even though they give us 30 days to submit that...we went straight to the doctors office right after we left the interview!!! We even tried to make it back there the same day, but they closed at 3PM and our interview ended at 2:20, so by the time we got to the docs office, it was too late!!!
Anyway, my husband and I decided to go back there this morning...and at 7:30 AM (when they opened), we were back there with the new medical in a new sealed envelope!!!
We handed it to this other office, who tried to locate our file, but since it was yesterday, it hadn't even reached there!!! This other lady was also really nice, and told us that if that was the only thing that was pending in our case (and she wouldn't know of course because she was not the adjucating officer working on it, and she didn't have it in front of her), that we should be all set and that my huband would be receiving his GREEN CARD AT HOME WITHIN 2 WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So although we were really disappointed yesterday , and afraid that this was going to set us back a long time, I guess we didn't really have anything to worry about... At least our I-130 was approved (which is the basis of our case anyway... I would be worried if there was anything wrong there!!!)
So now...it's just a bit more of the waiting game...
But thanks again for all of you...thanks to this entire community for this amazing website...it really helps us through!

Thanks everyone!!!
My husband still hasn't received anything in the mail...but we're still hopeful!
Also, there was no change on the online status...however, I'm not too attached to the website changes because we went through the whole process without them putting his I-485 number online (we were never able to check the I-485 online). The day of our interview, our interviewer put it online...but God only knows if the person who worked on it after made the updates...
We did receive the approved I-130 letter in the mail this past Saturday...(although this one showed up online the day after our interview...but this one had been online since the beginning...)
Anyway...still hopeful it will be here soon!!!

Hello Everyone!!!
Happy New Year!!!
Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful holiday season and best wishes to everyone for this 2008!
Well, after waiting and waiting and nothing coming in the mail and no status change for my husband...we made an infopass appointment for this morning to further inquire on the status and to hopefully get closer to his green card!
We had made arrangements to travel to Aruba (I'll tell you...well deserved vacations after 5 years!!!) because the officer had guaranteed us everything was all set and we would be getting the card in the mail within two weeks...
Of course we shouldn't believe them, but that's what we wanted to hear, so we went for it anyway...but since nothing happened for about 4 weeks now since the day we dropped our papers off (the day after our interview) we started to worry (our trip is booked for Jan 16!)...so we made the infopass appt.
Anyway, though we didn't walk out of there with a stamp in his passport, we got something very close to it!!!
We got there at 7:00 in the morning for our 7:15 appt. It took them about half an hour to get to us...we explained our situation, and the officer, though nicely, told us we shouldn't have made the arrangements without getting the card and that we had to wait...We insisted a bit and she into looking to find out what was going on...
At first she was able to tell us some things we didn't even know at this time (because we were relying on the net updates and the customer service number, which were both saying the same thing - "Request for evidence sent"): she told us that they definitely had a record of receiving our document (thank God!) and that we dropped it off 12/07 and that it had sit on that office for about a week and then it got transferred to another officer on 12/14. However, that officer had been swamped because of the overload, and that a lot of people had gone on vacation, and that he himself had gone on vacation...so nothing had been done until now...so she basically told us that our file had been sitting on his desk for all this time (SO TYPICAL!)...then we explained again that we had been given a definite answer as far as our approval, and that the only thing they really needed was the new paper about the vaccine (which the doctor screwed up to begin with)...
Then the officer had a change of heart...she asked us to wait...went to the back and placed a phone call. Then she came back to tell us that she had left a message for the officer who had our file but that he would only be there starting 8am (this was already 8:45) and she asked us if we wanted to wait... of course we did!!!
We waited until around 8:30 and she called us back (she had taken other people in between)...she told us that she had called the officer back and told him she had left a message earlier for him, and explained the case...she told us then that today was his first day back from vacation and that he would not definitely not be able to meet with us at that time because he had interviews back to back the whole day!
However, she had requested him to take a look at the case and she said he said he would try until the end of the day... so she told us that if by the end of the day he had had a chance to look at the file and was able to tell her that everything was indeed ok and that the file was indeed "approved"... she would get an approval number from him and she would be able to have us come back there to have his passport stamped!!!! She took my phone number and told us she would call when she had something...
We were thrilled!!!...needless to say I stuck by the phone the entire day...and when she finally called, I was in a meeting...Thank God she left a message for me!
The message said that the case would be worked on between today and tomorrow and that we should receive the card soon! If we didn't receive until a couple of days of our trip, we should make an appointment so she would be able to stamp his passport!!!
The greatest thing though is that we thought this was going to be done in the background there... but the officer was so nice that he actually finalized the process this afternoon and we received the so wanted e-mail saying that his card had been ordered!!!
We are ecstatic!!! We can't wait... here we were thinking we would have to pass our long waited trip up...but now it's definitely going to happen!!!
Anyway, I just wanted to share this with everyone and hopefully this helps someone!
Thanks!
